Band Ensembles

Concert Band

The Concert Band at Parkway Central is comprised of all 9th grade band students.  The Concert Band performs in several concerts and festivals each year.  Students will continue to improve their individual and ensemble skills.  More advanced playing techniques and styles will be studied, rehearsed and performed.  Band students annually participate in the Solo & Ensemble  Festival.  Students are also encouraged to audition for the All-Suburban Band.  A volunteer Pep Band, after-school Jazz Band and other opportunities are available for 9th grade band students.  Students are encouraged to perform in the PCH Marching Band.

Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band consists of all 10th, 11th and 12th grade band students.  During the Fall, these students perform in the Marching Band.  Following the football season, the Symphonic Band may be auditioned into two performing ensembles, the Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble.  Both ensembles rehearse at the same time in different rehearsal rooms.  Students are eligible and encouraged to participate in the Solo & Ensemble Festival, after-school Jazz Band and Pep Band.  Many Symphonic Band students audition for and participate in the All-Suburban and Missouri All-State Bands.  Honors credit is available to 10-12th grade students in the Symphonic Band.
